Vehicle Description

Here is a great example of the prettiest car BMW has ever made and this one is truly a daily driver.  The car was originally dark green and was repainted at some point this very attractive red.  It was built as a 2800 automatic but early on converted to a 3.0 twin Webber four-speed.  It’s tight and strong, runs well, has good metal, finish, brightwork, rubber mouldings and little rust comparatively.  The seats have been replaced with better looking in-line pleating versus the original-design cross-pleating; they match the door panels very well, there are new carpeting and mats and the headliner is good.  Overall, the interior is very close to new.

The car has a new stainless exhaust, the HVAC was recently rebuilt but the compressor has a small leak.  The car is fitted with Racing Dynamics 15” wheels and Yokohama Advan db tires are mounted.  The original 14” wheels come with the car with tires mounted, but the tire conditions allows only for winter storage and for maneuvering the car in and out of the garage and the driveway.  This car has always been stored for winter.

Also being made available with the car is a custom cover, parts manual and two-volume service manual, carb rebuild kits and some brake parts.  The front brakes are new.  The shock struts are solid and there is no rust.  The trunk area also has no rust.  There is slight bubbling beginning in small areas around two of the wheel arches but no "visible" rust.  The engine compartment is as clean as a whistle and shows that the car has been looked after.

There are a few issues which will need to be ironed out.  The front window actuators were serviced and work fine.  The rear windows are not operational and need to be serviced.  The odometer is not working and was not when the current owner bought the car.  $350 to replace it did not make sense.  We are pretty sure that mileage is in the 90's; the current owner has owned the car for four years and the previous owner had the car for nine years and drove it sparingly.

The owner was plugging away at the outstanding items while using the car sparingly (probably driven 1,000 miles a year at most) when he decided to buy one more car than he is allowed to have (LOL), so therefore he had to part with one.   All his other cars are British and this little gem was the odd man out.

If you feel inclined to drive this beautiful car and to continue working on these minor fixes, call Paul at 866.426.4480 to set an appointment to view the car.
