Vehicle Description
This is a very clean 1980 Triumph TR-7 Convertible with 117,507 original miles. The car is equipped with the 2.0L inline four, dual single-barrel side draft carbs, and a 5-speed manual transmission. The car is white with a black convertible top, with a tan vinyl/cloth interior.
This TR-7 is in excellent mechanical condition. The steering is tight, throttle response is good, and the brakes are strong and responsive. It’s a blast to drive, especially in the corners. The car also rides on a fresh set of Firestone Seiberling tires. This TR-7 is absolutely spotless underneath. We’ve never seen a cleaner Triumph.
The white paint has held up well, although there is a small mark on the hood/bonnet where a previous owner must have buffed through the paint. On the rear corners, there has been some light touch-up paintwork, but certainly no bodywork or bondo anywhere. There is also a series of small dings on the passenger side door, although the paint has not chipped away at all. The convertible top has one small tear in the driver’s side, but is in great shape otherwise. All of the plastic windows are intact. The pop-up headlights work flawlessly!
On the interior, the seats, carpets, dash and door panels are all in fantastic shape. The vinyl on the seats shows normal wear, but no rips or tears. The dash is crack-free. The AM/FM radio and cassette deck work nicely. Time to dig up those old tapes! The clutch is strong and grabs well, and the 5-speed shifts smoothly, although there is the usual slop in the gearbox.
