1955 Ford Thunderbird

What we have here is a lovely example of a restored 1955 Ford Thunderbird that is finished in Red with a White hardtop and which is complemented by a complementary Black and White interior. Overall, this car is in very nice condition, has just been painted and completely detailed.

This 1955 Ford Thunderbird was restored in 1997 when the odometer was reset to zero; since then, the car has done about 12,000 miles. When the restoration was done, the original motor and drivetrain from 1955 - a 292 cid motor and 3 speed transmission - were replaced with a rebuilt 1956 312 cid motor (bored .030 over) coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission, this addition makes the car far more "driver friendly" and is well suited to daily driving in the right climate. Also, the car had power steering added for the same reason.

This car was completely repainted, all bumpers were re-chromed, all the trim was polished and all the running gear was gone through meticulously by the owner (a retired mechanic of 35 years). The soft top has its frame but was not yet replaced; this is an optional addition as the soft top is not a necessity. The car is running on a good set of Broadway Classic tires and is ready to serve the needs of a new owner.
