*** THIS CAR IS PHYSICALLY LOCATED IN DEDHAM, MA *** What we have here is a 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible with 15,050 miles on the odometer since completion of an extensive frame up restoration. The car is finished in its original color - Colonial White - which is offset and complemented by a beautiful Red vinyl interior. All in all this is a very solid and well maintained car that should bring its new owner many miles of fun driving. This 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible was built May 9, 1957 at the Dearborn Assembly Plant and per the Data Plate was finished in Colonial White with a White interior. She also has a Colonial White porthole hardtop to go along with her Black vinyl soft top on a 'swing arm' frame. She is powered by her original 'D' Code Thuderbird 312 special V-8 245 Horsepower motor coupled to her original Fordomatic automatic transmission. This car was well optioned for her year and the installed options include: 'Master-Guide' Power Steering; 'Swift Sure' Power Brakes'; 'Town and Country' Volumatic Signal seek radio; 'Magic-Aire' Heater; Factory seat belts; Engine Dress-Up' kit (chrome plated air-cleaner, breather cap, 6-blade fan, polished valve covers); Wide White Wall Cooper Radial tires (4) along with an original style 'Firestone' spare tire and the car has Ford 'Turbine Style' full wheel covers. As you can see, this is a well optioned car that also included Tinted Safety Glass and Wind Wings and the 'Aquamatic' windshield washer-wiper (washer not operative). The Ground-up restoration and complete engine rebuild was finished in 1990 and the car was purchased by the current owner in October, 1991 with 9,852 miles shown on odometer. As the odometer was reset at restoration, we do not know the mileage prior to restoration but you can see that the car has not been extensively driven in the last 25 years. The car has a few paint issues consistent with a 25 year old paint job but she is very presentable and will do well at local car shows. She has been meticulously maintained by the current owner with annual maintenance completed including fluid and oil changes - regardless of usage. Two items that the new owner should know about are slight oil seepage from the rear main seal which is common on these motors and non-operating back-up lights due to unconnected wire from neutral safety switch to transmission shift lever. This is a beautiful car that has always been stored in an enclosed garage with 'California' car cover (included) - do not let the chance to own it pass you by.
