What we have here is a stunning, and completely original, numbers matching Chevrolet LS6 Chevelle. This beautiful and authentic car has 43,603 actual miles on the odometer. The car has never seen body work and was expertly painted only once, 10 years ago. This beautiful car is finished in its superb Fathom Blue with white stripe; the paint is rich and deep and makes no excuses. The interior is all original and finished in Black, complementing the exterior paint perfectly. Overall, this car is in exceptional condition, is totally matching numbers front to back, is well documented - including two build sheets and needs to be seen to be properly appreciated.

She has the matching numbers CRV (LS6 Muncie 4 Speed Manual Transmission) 454cid/450hp 4bbl LS6 motor coupled to the original, matching numbers Muncie 4 speed manual transmission and 12-bolt rear end. This 1970 LS6 has Cowl Induction and a Highly Detailed Interior, Engine Compartment and Trunk and comes with two build sheets and the owner’s manual. Original equipment includes the Z15 454SS package, LS6 454 V8, M22 Rock Crusher Heavy Duty 4 speed Muncie manual, hood and deck stripes, JL50 power brakes and JL2 front discs, heavy-duty battery, F70-14 lettered tires, U14 gauges, pushbutton radio and tinted glass.

With the obvious exception of the exclusive COPO editions, until 1970 the largest-displacement Chevelle was the SS396. That changed abruptly when GM officially lifted its ban on over-400-cubic-inch engines in its midsize range. The newest Chevelle SS option, the LS6, was the most powerful in that model's very successful history, and in fact the most powerful ever offered in a production car. Today, it is on the A-list of the most sought-after collector cars in the world. The LS6 Chevelle’s powerplant was every drag racer's dream, with an 800-cfm Holley four barrel on a dual-plane aluminum manifold, 11.25:1 compression, a high-lift, high-duration solid-lifter camshaft, beefy four-bolt mains, forged steel crank and connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, deep-groove accessory pulleys and massive intake and exhaust valves. Its factory rating of 450 horsepower was the highest ever conferred on a production car and, of course, considerably less than the actual figure of approximately 500.

Not only did the LS6 make prodigious power; it also remains one of the most handsomely-styled and trimmed of any American musclecar. Its lines and proportions represent one of the high points of Chevrolet's restrained styling philosophy of the time, while the SS stripes and badging inform one and all of its pavement-shredding performance. It is very rare that a car like this becomes available for sale - this one has been dorment for 30 Years!!
